Over the St. Patrick’s day weekend EAFC hosted our friends from Estepona and another team ‘Box Boys’ from Manchester.
Great games were played on Saturday and Sunday with a stronger East Algarve team taking the honours with Estepona second only beating the Manchester team on goal difference over the 2 days of competitive but friendly and social football.
Patrick Browne our goalkeeper was player of the tournament only letting in one goal in 4 games and also helping out our visitors by playing in goal for the Manchester team twice against Estepona.
The social side played a big part in the weekend with Clive, Lorraine and their staff hosting us at Charette on the Saturday, followed by Pedras da Rainha with Danny Maverick entertaining on the Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day.
Great friendship built and a fantastic weekend of fun and football.
A special thanks to Steve Ashcroft who arranged the venue, Jon Berrill for refereeing on both days and Stuart Meakin for managing the East Algarve team.
Additional thanks to Jim from Estepona for helping arrange the trip and Len Fry who was transportation manager and food supplier and organiser for the visitors.
