After the success of the previous EAFC training tops we are now in a position to purchase more.
Due to the latest restrictions imposed by the Tavira council, the training sessions on a Tuesday are currently suspended. We will update when we can.
We can now announce that sessions in Tavira are starting again from Tuesday October 20th.
With the current global situation with Covid-19, we as EAWF and EAFC would like to give something back (#GIVESOMETHINGBACK) to our local communities in the East Algarve and help some small businesses that are very close to our hearts but who must be struggling at the moment.
The proposed over 55s tournament involving us and a US side on the 25th/26th March has been cancelled due to covid-19. The game against a team from Estepona on March 28th has also been postponed, with the match possibly being played later this year. We will update when we can.
Due to the closure of all municipal and cultural infrastructure by the Municipio de Tavira in response to the covid-19 pandemic, all our sessions at Tavira on Mondays and Wednesdays are suspended with immediate effect until further notice.
Since we started EAFC, which evolved from the very successful East Algarve Walking Football, we have seen our Wednesday sessions expand from very challenging (although enjoyable) beginnings to what we have today. We should not underestimate what we have achieved and this shows with the type of games and events that we are now involved in.
Our training sessions on Wednesday December 25th and January 1st will not take place due to the holidays. Join us on January 8th to run off those Xmas calories….
In place of our usual training session on January 15th we have a mini-tournament against the Brighton Revs, a visiting team from the UK. This will start at 9.30 am as normal, but go on until 12.30.
All regulars are welcome to attend.
EAFC and EAWF last week welcomed the return of the mature players from Copenhagen who have all had prostrate cancer but made full recoveries.
Playing both normal football and walking football with us all week, the group had a great time and are already planning another trip next year.
