After what seems an age, EAFC finally managed to win their first competitive game on Saturday 17th July against the old foe, Destination Football FC, in Ferreiras.
A superb controlled performance saw them come out on top 8-3, with a hat-trick from Craig McEnroe, 2 goals from Ian Cruthers and further goals scored by Idelson Fernandes, Adilson Morais and Pedro Texeira.
After a nervy opening 10 minutes in very warm weather, EAFC finally settled and created numerous chances and should have put the game to bed by half-time. A 3-1 half-time lead meant there was still work to do; however, as temperatures rose and the tackles were flying in, EAFC kept their composure, defended resolutely and played some good football to score more goals and should have probably scored more than the 8 they got.
There were several man-of-the-match performances, but it was a great team effort that saw them prevail.

Hopefully this is the start of more success for the club, who it must be remembered are still in their infancy.
