On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March we welcomed a visiting team from Estepona, Spain.

First up on  Saturday were our over 35s veterans v Estepona over 35s. The match was entertaining and action packed throughout, with flowing end-to-end action. The final score was 1-0 to Tavira; however, if it wasn’t for the fantastic heroics of both goalkeepers the score could have been higher.

Next up were the over 50s teams. After a very close entertaining first half which saw Tavira more than hold their own against a strong Estepona side, the visiting team eventually finished as winners 4-1.

Saturday night saw everyone enjoying a meal together, with some socialising following on.

Sunday’s first match saw a slight mixing up of the over 35s teams due to a few Estepona injuries, aching limbs, or even too much beer on the Saturday night! A few over 50s also joined the younger players. However, the match itself was just as thrilling as Saturdays, with two evenly matched teams played out a high-scoring thriller, resulting in a 4-4 draw.

To round off the weekend action Tavira over 50s were hoping to restore pride against our visitors. After a very close, exciting first half full of incident and action, Estepona slightly had the edge in the second half and eventually ran out 3-1 winners.

Well done to everyone involved.
